Kai Folk: Inspiration

Kai folk is a space to explore people connected with food and livelihoods. In Maori culture, Kai refers to food, feeding oneself, nourishment and the sharing of that, devouring all its loving goodness. My experiences in New Zealand led me here. In this space, I'd like to share with you videos, photographs, stories and interviews of people that inspire me with their connection to land, food and people in a myriad of ways.

I hope that by sharing stories of these Kai Folk that I can honour and celebrate dreamers and doers who want to make a difference to their own lives, their families, friends, communities when it comes to food, homes, communities and lifestyles and that in doing so, that you are inspired too.

A simple and short essay about being inspired to live differently, especially when that idea is the best crazy idea you've ever heard.

Bronwyn is a medical herbalist who, with a team of equally amazing individuals, runs the Herbal Dispensary in Raglan, New Zealand. Last year, I was given the incredible opportunity to volunteer in the Dispensary's medicinal herbal garden and subsequently made a video where I interview her about the Herbal Dispensary, Raglan, medical herbalism and that famous garden.
